On this Tuesday, we met up with the class and traveled around Munich, touring the sites around Munich and learning lessons on the particular places we encountered along the way. Most of the focus today was the reconstruction and the resiliency efforts that were instilled in Munich after the war. This applied to both the transportation aspect as well as the building and infrastructure aspects. We eventually ended our morning by having lunch at the Hofbrauhaus: the oldest and one of the most famous beer halls in the world. Delicious food and even more delicious beer. After lunch, we were told to go off and explore more of Munich using any type of transportation so my group and I went to explore the city center. At the end of the day, I learned that walking of course is a vital form of transportation and that often things are not as far as they may seem. I also learned that transportation is vital to restoring infrastructure and allowing resiliency after seeing all the old buildings that seemed to still be in good shape.
